PLEASE NOTE:

Stage 1: Bio Ceramic 'Korea Ceramic' Dome (Change Every 6 Months)

Bio Ceramic 'Korea Ceramic' Dome

This cartridge consists of highly compressed ceramic diatom, which filters ultra-fine sediment matter down to 0.5 Micron (Nominal). The filter is manufactured under extremely high temperatures to ensure a perfect mold, after which it undergoes strict quality control to ensure a consistent and high-quality ceramic filter.

Don't be fooled by companies that claim ceramic "removes fluoride and heavy metals" or claims to be a "heavy metal and fluoride reduction ceramic"! If such a claim is made, chances are the Ceramic Media used is also impregnated with Aluminium Oxide that works via an ion-exchange mechanism (i.e. exchanging an aluminium ion for a fluoride ion), which in a way defeats the purpose of filtration if we are trying to remove contaminants from our drinking water! Further, in our experience, such filters have a maximum efficacy of 95%, and rapidly deteriorates in its ability to reduce fluoride (i.e you'll get a 95% reduction for the first 4 litres, and then a dramatic decline from there). For this reason - we don't sell any "ceramic fluoride reduction" products. Instead, we recommend Reverse Osmosis filtration, which has a 98% fluoride reduction rate, and an RO membrane should last you 4 years if you live in an area with soft water (2 years if hard water). If you're looking for a portable fluoride reduction solution (i.e. non-permanent installation which doesn't require a plumber), check out our range of Portable Reverse Osmosis Systems. Otherwise, if you're looking for a permanent fluoride reduction solution, check out our range of Undersink Reverse Osmosis Systems.

Ceramic is commonly used to filter bacteria and parasites from rainwater. Please see below ***Important Information About Water Sanitation*** if treating rain water is your objective.

Multi-Media Activated Coconut Carbon + Alkaline Mineral Cartridg(Change Every 6 Months)

*Please note: This cartridge may look different than the carbon cartridge that came with the original system, but it is fully compatible.

Stages 2 & 5: Activated Carbon

Coconut carbon absorbs the majority of Chlorine, THM's, and other organic Chemicals from the water including herbicides and pesticides, whilst the low flow rate at which the ceramic filter allows for water to pass through, also enables the removal of Chloramines. Coconut carbon also imparts a subtly sweet flavour into the water.

Stage 3: FAR Mineralising Ball

This stage of filtration activates the water molecules, enriching minerals in the water and promoting good health.

Stage 4: Silica Sand

Silica sand removes acidic substances from the water helping balance low pH issues.

Stage 6: Mineral Stones

Mineral Stones improve the biological activity of the water with dissolved oxygen concentration, whilst also releasing trace minerals into the water, such as magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, and manganese. All of these minerals are essential for the health of human bones and teeth!

Diameter of Top Male Thread: 86.4mm
Length Top to Bottom: 14.3cm

Stage 7: Maifan Stone Mineral Pad (Change Every 6 Months)

Maifan Stone Mineral Pad

These stones are mined several hundred meters below sea level, on an unpolluted and isolated island in Korea. These stones contain Germanium, which promotes good health. This substance also helps absorb odours and other impurities, while simultaneously releasing more than 30 other kinds of minerals. This highly porous mineral stone significantly aids in the oxygenation of water and in adjusting the pH levels of the water to mild alkaline.

Optional Add On: Mixed Mineral Balls (900 Grams) (Change Every 6 Months)

Stage 8: Tourmaline Energy Balls (White)

Tourmaline Ceramic Balls release up to 0.06mA of Bioelectricity into the water, helping to break down bigger molecule groups of water into smaller ones, essentially "activating" the water. Tourmaline can radiate more than 85% FIR (far infrared ray), providing a mildly alkaline pH. Tourmaline also has bacteriostatic properties, allowing for water to be stored for longer time periods. Tourmaline releases two negative ions (Hydroxyl and Hydronium), helping to soften the water and reduce maintenance in the lower tank.

Stage 9: Negative Ion Balls (Grey)

Negative Ion Ceramic Balls are made from natural stones which have undergone nanometer processing to produce negative ions, increase dissolved oxygen, and activate the water. The balls have a smooth surface to dissolve evenly and provide a consistent effect over time. This type of media is widely used in water treatment processing, and even in aquariums to help boost biological activity!

Stage 10: FIR Ceramic Balls (Red)

Far Infrared Ceramic balls release a weak electric current (0.06 mA) (which is similar to the body's natural current) along with trace elements such as lithium, iodine and selenium.

Please see below the Recommended Filter Replacement Schedule and links to the replacement filters:

Installation:

  1. Unpack the system from the package and unwrap all filters.
  2. Assemble the white base and the bottom tank, then install the tap.
  3. Rinse the Mineral Pad & Mineral Balls (if applicable) in clean water. Let them soak for 10 minutes, then rinse again in clean water.
  4. Place the Mineral Pad at the bottom of the tank, in the center. When using mineral balls, spread them evenly around the mineral pad.
NOTE: Leave a small area clear near the tap to avoid the stones blocking the tap.
  5. Rinse the Multi Media cartridge under running water to clear any fine particles then soak in clean water for 10 minutes, and give a final rinse before installing.
  6. Screw the cartridge into the white joiner piece, and affix the joiner to the bottom tank.
  7. Rinse the Ceramic dome filter in running water and use a clean kitchen scourer to lightly scrub the surface of the filter. Run water from the tap directly down through the stem of the filter to flush out any internal dust and air particles.
  8. Soak the ceramic in water (overnight is best) then give it a final rinse off and install into the top housing.
  9. Assemble the system then fill the top tank with water and allow it to filter through.
  10. Please note that you cannot completely fill both bottom and top tanks at the same time, otherwise it will leak - do not fill above the join between tanks 1 & 2.
