Commercial Bag Filter System
This bag filter system is compatible with most standard size #2 filter bags. Supplied standard with 2" BSPT-F ports for easy commercial applications without the need for NPT to BSP adaptors. The inlet and outlet are configured with the inlet in the top side and the outlet at the base of the filter, marked accordingly.
The full body construction of this system including the internal basket element is made from commercial grade, acid washed, electro-polished 304 Stainless-Steel making it suitable for domestic and commercial applications including drinking water.
The top seal is a heavy duty EPDM Gasket for increased resistance to chemicals and oils and has a higher temperature resistance. This seal is used with a heavy duty screw clamp for a positive seal.
The GT36-65 is considered a low pressure bag filter suitable for applications not exceeding 1000 kPa (145 psi). It is also suitable for domestic or commercial hot water/liquid filtration up to 100°C
For applications over 38°C please contact us to get the correct Nylon or Polyester Filter Bag.

Mounting The System
This filter housing will require a vertical installation on a solid flat surface.
If installing this system on a flat slab, ensure that the slab is at least 100 x 100 (cm) for structural stability. Locate the correct mounting position and adjust leg height by loosening the bolts clamping the legs to the system. When in the desired position, re-tighten the bolts firmly.
Plumbing The System
As with all filtration, it is always recommended to install a bypass around the filter and add isolation valves before and after the system for easy maintenance. Not only will this simplify filter changes, but it will also allow you to maintain unfiltered water flow should there be an issue with the unit, or if the filter is not required at that time.
Ensure that there is a 1-way check valve installed to prevent vacuum on the housing. Excessive vacuum may damage the housing or components.
Using Filter Bags
The stainless-steel bag filter system has an internal SS 304 basket for housing the filter bag. This basket provides structural support for the filter bag to avoid perforation or tearing, resulting in a bypass. The filter bag should be unfolded and placed into the basket, with the rim of the filter bag touching the lip of the basket.
When under water pressure and flow, the filter bag will be forced into the basket and the bag will inflate to provide maximum surface area for filtration. The pressure and flow will seal the filter bag against the rim and prevent raw water bypass.
Filter bags are designed to be cleaned and re-used until their structural integrity has been compromised or the filter material has been saturated.
